Being a fashion major comes with many titles, to name a few; fashion forward, crazy, creative, and the most obvious, animal killer. A recent walk down the halls of Donnelly, and a brief article in The Circle brought to my attention support of my sarcasm. I freely admit that I, Kara Brunk, am the "cruel," "animal hating" fashion merchandising major that made this "controversial" poster.

It is true; the poster supports the use of animal furs as components and accessories to a person's wardrobe. However, if the rude, protesting "poster hangers" had taken the time to read the ENTIRE poster they would have seen my name freely printed on it, thus claiming responsibility for my choices. If they have such a problem with my pick of a class project, then perhaps they should have asked for my views of the topic.

No, I do not advocate the mass killing of animals for any reason except for perhaps a rabies outbreak, but otherwise, I wear faux fur. This project was done merely for my Principles of Apparel Design class, teaching us to clean up magazine clippings, and arrange them in productive and intriguing way, to catch one's eye - apparently it worked. Perhaps what these so called "activists" should be more concerned about is actually having a basis to your argument, and possibly going about stating your views in an appropriate manner, instead of vandalizing others' work.

Two sides of any story are always the ideal for a proper debate or argument; unfortunately, I was not given the chance to defend myself. So please, before any other radical activists decide that to get a point across they need to, essentially deface another student's hard work, think twice. Get all sides of the story, and understand that your views are important, but not to as many people as you might think. So, try keeping them to yourselves.
