What makes a show like "Grey's Anatomy" such a hit is the modesty of poor interns struggling through life after med school, mixed with the intrigue of love. It would be interesting if you and all of your friends lived in the same house, worked in the same place, and of course had extremely dramatic love lives. In short, this is the basis of the trend-setting show "Grey's Anatomy." Maybe college students have taken such a liking to "Grey's Anatomy" because it poses as the possibility of the post-college life they desire. Success and a side order of McDreamy is tantalizing, for sure, and the drama that goes along with it - including a hectic ER and scrubbing in on surgeries - just adds to the appeal.
For anyone who is unaware of the story line, "Grey's Anatomy" follows the lives of five surgical interns in Seattle. After a one night stand between Dr. Grey (an intern), and a neurosurgeon, Dr. Shepherd (aka McDreamy), their tormented love story begins. In addition, each intern has his or her own love story that is just as complicated as the main one between Grey and Shepherd. At times these relationships just scream for the intervention of any sane person; however, it wouldn't be an interesting show if no one made mistakes.
"Grey's Anatomy" covers some serious and impacting diseases and accidents. Train wrecks, car accidents, shootings, brain tumors, aneurisms and breast cancer are all addressed on "Grey's Anatomy." This show has actually made me wish I had not cringed every time I dissected something in biology or forensics class because the passion and intellect the characters portray is amazing. This show opens one's eyes to
the world of surgeons, all of their training, all of the hours they put in. It's all so impressive.
Another perk of viewing the show, however subtle, is the quirky dialogue and good musical selection. Each episode starts off with Grey introducing a general theme, such as guilt, and throughout the entire show everyone's different
