One week earlier, Halifax performed their fan favorite "Nightmare" live. It was mainly based on this performance that viewers chose Halifax as their favorite band. Viewers thought Halifax best deserved the grand prize: a $15,000 shopping spree and promotional opportunities at Guitar Center, a profile in a future issue of Alternative Press magazine, guest appearances and exposure on future MTV2 programs and tours, an opportunity to be on a future EA video game soundtrack and a secured open slot to perform as part of The Bamboozle 2007 festival.
According to the president of their label, Heath Miller, Halifax is already reaping the benefits of Dew Circuit Breakout. "We saw a spike in sales around the airing of the winning episode," Miller said, "and so far tickets are selling really well for the headline tour dates."
Halifax's sales should only continue to increase. Halifax joins the likes of Hellogoodbye, Yellowcard, Taking Back Sunday and Hawthorne Heights as Dew Circuit Breakout winners. Since winning the Circuit Breakout all of these bands have had albums in the Billboard Top 40, so do not be surprised when you see Halifax's new CD on the "New Release" rack at the Poughkeepsie Galleria FYE.
