The Red Foxes will look to avenge their first Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) loss of the season, on Saturday Feb. 3 at 7:30 p.m. as they welcome the first place Loyola Greyhounds to the McCann Center.

Currently the Foxes are 15-7 on the season and are in third place in the conference with a 7-4 record. The Greyhounds are 13-8 overall and 9-2 in conference play.

Last Time

When these two teams last meet back on Jan. 2, Gerald Brown's 33 points led the Greyhounds to a 77-69 win over the Red Foxes. The game was dominated in the early going by Loyola as they found themselves up by 16 (31-15) with 2:32 to go in the first half.

However, the Red Foxes continued to fight there way back as they went on an 11-3 run over the rest of the half to cut the Loyola lead to 34-26.

The Greyhounds would open up the second half, just as the opened up the game. Over the first nine minutes of the second half, the Greyhounds built an 18 point advantage (57-39) on a Brown three-pointer with 11:29 to go in regulation.

Loyola seemed to have the game locked up, but the Red Foxes came roaring back courtesy of a 22-4 run over the next 7:25 to cut the lead to just three points (64-61) at the 4:04 mark.

Brown proved to be too much for the Red Foxes as he hit a three point to push the lead back to six points, at 67-61, and that would be as close as Marist would get.

In the game, the Red Foxes were lead by senior guard Will Whittington who scored 19 points in the losing effort. This game also featured senior Jared Jordan's first career triple double (12 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists).

Head Coach Matt Brady talked about some of the keys to why Loyola won.

"One of the first things that they did as a team was trapping Jared [Jordan]," Brady said. "This forced a lot of turnovers on our part."

For the game the Red Foxes turned the ball over 18 times including seven by Jordan.

Brady also said that his team missed too many open shots.
