Alyssa Hurlbut, Editor in Chief   Alyssa is the Editor in Chief of Marist Circle. She is a senior majoring in journalism with a minor in political science. Prior to taking on the role of Chief Editor, she served as the features editor and a staff writer. This summer, Alyssa worked as a general assignment reporter for the Hartford-based Connecticut Mirror, where she covered political issues ranging from primary elections to gun control legislation. She has also interned with the Journal Inquirer out of Hartford and PolitiFact's Washington DC bureau. As an aspiring journalist and eventually, human-interest-based author, she believes that journalism is supremely important in catalyzing social change. She hopes Marist Circle will inspire students on campus to cultivate a range of independent perspectives.

She is currently a junior majoring in communications with a focus in journalism and public relations, and with a dual-minor in political science and media production. She is from Tolland, Connecticut and graduated from Tolland High School.  Since she was young she always knew she wanted to be a writer and has been an avid reader her entire life. She hopes to pursue a career in journalism, focusing on international relations and international correspondence.

Hannah is the Managing Editor of Marist Circle. She is currently a junior majoring in communications with a focus in journalism and public relations, and with a dual-minor in political science and media production. She is from Tolland, Connecticut and graduated from Tolland High School.  Since she was young she always knew she wanted to be a writer and has been an avid reader her entire life. She hopes to pursue a career in journalism, focusing on international relations and international correspondence.

  Caroline Chan, Chief Copy Editor    Caroline Chan is a Honors senior majoring in communications -- with a dual concentration in journalism and advertising -- and minoring in digital video production and global studies. She is a co-chief copy editor for The Circle, although she initially joined during her sophomore year as a writer. After graduation, Caroline aspires to be an education reporter at a news organization.

  Elizabeth Pagano, Arts and Entertainment Editor   Elizabeth Pagano is the Arts and Entertainment Editor for Marist Circle. She has been involved in Marist Circle for three years, serving as Arts and Entertainment Editor since Spring 2017. She is currently a senior, majoring in journalism and minoring in philosophy. When she is not studying or writing, you can probably find her painting, binge-reading Vogue, or scarfing down a family-sized bag of salt and vinegar chips. As for the future, she is not yet sure of what she will end up doing, but it will (hopefully) be within the realm of writing or something within the arts.

  Emily Yen, Chief of Graphic Design    Emily is a sophomore majoring in digital media design with a concentration in graphic design. Additionally she is considering taking on minors in studio art and philosophy. She is currently a sophomore and a Chief of Graphic Design for Marist Circle. She is from Allentown, Pennsylvania and graduated from Emmaus High School, where she produced various interest-based full length magazines and discovered an interest in publication design. She has done design work with local sports teams, businesses, animal shelters, etc. While a graphic designer, Emily can often be found with paint stains on her from her hours in the art studio working on various projects. She hopes her design work on the Circle makes the community more likely to pick up a copy and explore the inspiring and intriguing content that it has to offer.

These days, Jack is working to better connect the Marist student population to the athletic programs that represent the Marist community. Upon graduation in May, Jack is looking forward to bringing his passion for sports journalism to the professional level.

He also hopes to bring a worldly perspective, outside of Poughkeepsie, to Marist Circle by starting a study abroad column, utilizing his passion of travel writing.
