Security Beat Updates: Petty Crimes Abound at Marist

Two separate reports of bicycles being stolen occurred on Sept. 25 and Sept. 26. One was stolen from outside of the library, with the other incident occurring at Marian Hall. Both cases have been dealt with and are now considered closed.

An incident of larceny occurred in Midrise Hall on Sept. 25, where a soda machine was found to have significant damage. The case has been closed. Another act of larceny was reported on Oct. 2 in the Cabaret, where a student was caught stealing food from the online Grubhub orders. The case has been cleared.

A drug violation occurred on Sept. 26 involving students in the Lower Townhouse area. The students were caught with marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and the case is currently under judicial referral.

Laundry room mischief continues, as clothing was reported stolen in Midrise on Sept. 27. The case has been examined and is now closed as the thief has been caught.

Two fake IDs were found and discarded from wallets in Donnelly Hall on Oct. 2. The cases are under judicial referral.

On Oct. 8, a student reported that their sunglasses were stolen in the Upper West Cedar Lot. The case has been closed.

An incident involving dating violence was reported to security on Sept. 27 by a student in Lower West Cedar. A fondling case was additionally reported in Ward Hall on Oct. 2. No further details are available as both cases are currently being handled under Title IX.
