Security Beat: The Happenings of Halloween Week

On the night of Oct. 28, a case of disorderly conduct involving a car full of young individuals throwing drinks at a student occurred outside of Lowell Thomas. The disposition of the case is currently pending. Although they are believed to be Marist students, the identity of the individuals has not been discovered.

A fire safety inspection on Halloween day revealed five separate cases of drug violations. Four violations were found in the Lower Fulton Townhouses and one in Upper Fulton. All cases are currently under judicial referral. 

On Oct. 25, an alcohol violation incident occurred after underaged students were found drinking at a club party in Lavelle Hall. The case is currently under judicial referral.

Another alcohol incident occurred on Oct. 28 as three intoxicated non-students were discovered walking to a townhouse in Upper West Cedar. The case is currently under judicial referral.

A case of forgery occurred after a fake ID was found in the Rotunda on Oct. 29. The case is currently under judicial referral. 

A sexual assault case in Midrise Hall was reported to security on Oct. 29. No further details are available as the case is currently being investigated under Title IX.

Criminal mischief arose in Leo Hall on Oct. 29 as a student reported that their scooter had been damaged while left outside of their room. Suspects have yet to be identified, and the case is under judicial referral.

On Oct. 30, an incident of larceny occurred after a Keurig coffee pot was stolen from 51 Fulton. The case has been reported to the Poughkeepsie Police Department and is now considered closed.

A large amount of trash and recyclables were found to be thrown into the Hudson River down by Longview Park on Nov. 4. The individuals responsible for this mischief were not identified, and the case has been closed.
