Remembering Daniel Shapiro

The Marist College community’s heart is heavy following the death of Daniel Shapiro, a member of the Class of 2022.

Daniel was a Communications Major who lived in Lower West Cedar and was a member of the Golf Club.

Deborah DiCaprio, Vice President of Student Affairs, informed the college community of the news in an email on the afternoon of October 25. “Daniel died last night of natural causes, surrounded by his family.”

According to the message, the College will be conducting a Memorial Service to celebrate Daniel’s life at a later date — and information about this will be communicated to the College Community in the near future.

“The College Counseling Center, Campus Ministry members, Resident Directors and First Year Coordinators are available to students for support, so please reach out,” said DiCaprio.

Services were held on October 28 at Congregation B’nai Jeshurun in Short Hills, NJ.

We at the Marist Circle invite you with our condolences to reach out to us at writethecircle@gmail.com to share your own memories with Daniel to help us continue to remember and celebrate his life.
