Since the security update was sent to Marist students last Friday, the Office of Safety and Security has received five reports of students experiencing adverse reactions after drinking at a local bar.

Four of the reports came from female students and the other was from an anonymous source.

These incidents occurred over a range of two months from August to September and the location is consistent throughout the reports.

There have been no reports of sexual misconduct in relation to these incidents.

Marist Security has communicated more detailed information to the Poughkeepsie Police Department with permission of the students. Police are said to be investigating.

John Blaisdell, Director of Safety and Security, urges students to report any incidents to the Office of Safety and Security or the Poughkeepsie Police Department.

Students have the ability to report anonymously, and should note that the college does have a medical amnesty policy.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information is released.
