In December of 2021, Marist College President Kevin Weinman and his wife Beth donated $250,000 to various funds at Marist just two months after joining the community.

“From the moment the board of trustees asked me to be Marist’s president, I knew I wanted to start giving back to this amazing college, both to express my gratitude for the chance to serve Marist in this role and, more importantly, to support our students in any way I could,” said Weinman.

The Weinman donation helped to establish the Presidential Fund for Equity in the Marist Experience. This fund supplies financial assistance to students to help them take additional courses and accept internship and tutoring opportunities.

“It was clear even in my very earliest days here that some students simply do not feel that they can take full advantage of everything Marist has to offer,” said Weiman.

For President Weinman, the donation wasn’t just about the impact of the money but inspiring others to donate as well. This September, his hope to rally others to the cause was fulfilled.

“I was so honored and thrilled that Board Chair Ross Mauri and his wife Barbara matched our gift and that every single one of the thirty members of our board of trustees made a donation to the President’s Fund for Equity in the Marist Experience.”

President Weinman hopes that the donation can bring Marist towards better financial assistance for both current and prospective students, all of whom will benefit from a more affordable education.

“I hope it attracts talented students to apply and come to Marist, knowing that we are working hard each and every day to support their needs and give them the very best educational experience possible," said Weinman.
