Trump’s Vulgar Use of AI

Recently, President Donald Trump’s new favorite pastime seems to be releasing vulgar AI-generated videos and images that include vulgar imagery and messages that are more than likely made to mislead viewers and amplify political divisions above all else.
Trump has been using this AI-generated content mainly as a rebuttal backlash, and to statements and events that he disagrees with. Utilizing AI is Trump’s childish way of “getting back” at those who rebuke him, rather than making professional statements like a political figurehead typically would.
On Oct. 18, one of the biggest protests to take place against Trump, No Kings Day, swept through the nation and beyond. It was a large-scale non-violent protest where Americans came together by the millions to show their dissent against Trump, while showing that their ultimate attempt was to protect America from a dictatorship.
Rather than taking extreme offense that so many American citizens view him as a tyrant, Trump decided to embrace the narrative with hubris, with two AI-generated videos to mock the protests.
One video depicts Trump being crowned king while Democratic figureheads knelt to him in respect and support. While this video was unsettling, the other video was both disturbing and disgusting.
The next video portrayed Trump in a fighter jet with the phrase “KING TRUMP” plastered along the sides as Trump himself released raw sewage and excretion on protesters, protesters who are acting on their First Amendment right to do so.
This isn’t the first time Trump has used AI in a vulgar way to express his disagreement. Roughly a month ago, he released a deep-fake video of top Democratic leaders – Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries – a mere few hours after hosting the two at the Oval Office meeting for a government shutdown summit.
The video portrayed the two telling reporters that Democrats “have no voters anymore, because of our woke, trans bullshit” and that “if we give all these illegal aliens health care, we might be able to get them on our side so they can vote for us.” All while Jefferies wore a sombrero and mariachi music played in the background.
Trump makes these videos and images as a juvenile attempt to boost his own ego while also offending those who oppose him. As a figurehead, as the president of the United States, he should embrace the fundamental tradition of unity rather than continuously furthering the divide amongst us. But instead, he openly chooses to diminish and defame Democrats, only proving their point that he is not what is best for America and her future.
Perhaps Trump’s media presence would be even the slightest bit entertaining if our country weren’t in the middle of a tense government shutdown, families weren’t being brutally separated and he wasn’t exemplifying pretensions of absolute power. The only thing his AI usage has proved without a doubt is that if he is truly the king of anything, he is the king of doubling down.
